Dutch Harbor, located in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, is known for its commercial fishing industry and is one of the largest fishing ports in the United States. It was first settled by Russians in the late 18th century and later served as a military base during World War II. The Dutch Harbor Naval Operating Base and Fort Mears, a National Historic Landmark, was the site of the only battle on North American soil during the war.
