Window Rock, Arizona, is the capital of the Navajo Nation, the largest Native American reservation in the United States. The town, home to around 3,500 people, was incorporated in 1953 and is named after a natural, window-like rock formation that is a popular landmark and sacred site for the Navajo people. The Navajo Nation Council, the governing body of the Navajo Nation, is located in Window Rock, which also hosts the Navajo Nation Zoo and the Navajo Nation Museum. The town's economy is primarily based on government services, tourism, and retail trade.
