Ligonier, Indiana, US is a town in Noble County, founded in 1835. It was named after the Battle of Ligonier in 1758, during the French and Indian War. The town became a commercial center for the area's farmers and was incorporated in 1869. The town's growth was aided by the arrival of the railroad in 1870. The Perkins Covered Bridge, built in 1869, is a notable landmark, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
