Harrison, Georgia is a town located in Henry County, approximately 20 miles south of Atlanta. It was incorporated in 1859 and named after the president of the Georgia Railroad, Charles Harrison. The town was a significant stop on the railroad line and played a role in the Civil War as a supply hub for the Confederate Army. Today, a notable attraction is the historic Harrisburg-Harrison Bridge, a Camelback truss bridge built in 1916 that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
