The town is named after the Mediterranean island of Malta. A notable landmark in Malta is the National Museum of Dance, which is located in the Saratoga Spa State Park. The museum is the only museum in the United States dedicated to dance. Today, Malta is a growing community with a population of approximately 14,000 residents.
