Clarksville is a city in Johnson County, Arkansas, United States, located on the Arkansas River. It was established in 1836 and incorporated in 1852. The city is named after General John Clark, a veteran of the Creek War and the War of 1812. Clarksville is home to the University of the Ozarks, a small liberal arts college.
