Camilla, Georgia, US is the county seat of Mitchell County, established in 1857. The city was named after Camilla Doyle, the daughter of a local plantation owner. During the Civil War, Camilla was a stop on the Great Locomotive Chase. The city is known for its Antebellum architecture and the Spring Creek Golf Course, a notable attraction designed by architect Bob Cupp.
