Swainsboro is a city in Emanuel County, Georgia, US, founded in 1812 and incorporated in 1854. It was named after the county's namesake, David Emanuel Swain, a state legislator and president of the University of North Carolina. The city served as a significant supply center during the Civil War. A notable attraction is the Emanuel County Historic Courthouse, built in 1902, which now functions as a local history museum.
