Harrodsburg, Kentucky, US is the county seat of Mercer County. Established in 1774, it is the oldest permanent settlement in the state. The town was founded by James Harrod, for whom it is named, and was the site of the first constitutional convention in Kentucky. A notable landmark in Harrodsburg is the Old Fort Harrod State Park, which features a replica of the original fort and a living history museum.
