Arabi, Louisiana is a census-designated place (CDP) in St. Bernard Parish, located on the Mississippi River across from New Orleans. It was established in the 19th century and has a rich history in the sugar and molasses industry. During the American Civil War, Arabi was the site of the Battle of French Town, also known as the Battle of Liberty Place. Today, Arabi is home to the Domino Sugar Refinery, a notable landmark and one of the few remaining sugar refineries in the United States.
