Aberdeen is a town in Moore County, North Carolina, US, founded in 1877. It was named after a president of the Cape Fear and Yadkin Valley Railroad Company, who had connections to Aberdeen, Scotland. The town was incorporated in 1893 and has since grown to a population of approximately 6,000 (as of 2010). Aberdeen is home to the House in the Horseshoe, a historic plantation house that was the site of a Revolutionary War battle, making it a notable attraction for history enthusiasts.
