Raymond, New Hampshire, incorporated in 1764, is a town in Rockingham County. It was originally part of Exeter and named Newmarket. The town was renamed Raymond in honor of a provincial governor, William Shirley, whose country estate was called Raynesfield. Raymond is home to the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center, a notable attraction known for its services to individuals with disabilities since 1953. The town covers a total area of 49.3 square miles, with a population of approximately 10,000 as of 2010.
