Parlin, New Jersey, US is an unincorporated community located within Sayreville in Middlesex County. It was named after Samuel W. Parlin, a local lumber merchant and industrialist. The community has a rich history in the lumber and railroad industries, with the first lumber yard established in 1870 and the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad opening a freight yard in 1888. A notable landmark is the historic Cheesequake Creek Railroad Bridge, which was built in 1907 and is still in use today.
