Rosedale, NY, US is a hamlet and census-designated place in Nassau County. It was originally part of the Hempstead Township and was mainly used for farming until the early 20th century. The community experienced significant growth after the construction of the Long Island Rail Road in 1905. Rosedale is home to the historic landmark, the Rosedale Cemetery, which was established in 1866 and is the final resting place for many notable figures, including baseball player, Jimmie Foxx.
