Defiance, Ohio, US is a city in northwest Ohio, established in 1845. It was named after the Defiance County, where it is located. The city played a significant role during the American Civil War as a stop on the Underground Railroad, helping slaves escape to freedom. Defiance is home to the Fort Defiance State Park, which offers a panoramic view of the Maumee River and features a replica of the fort used during the Indian Wars in the late 1700s.
