Choctaw is a city in Oklahoma, US, founded in 1902, and incorporated in 1909. It was named after the Choctaw Nation, one of the Five Civilized Tribes forced to relocate to Indian Territory in the 1830s. The city is home to the Choctaw Casino Resort, a popular tourist attraction. Today, Choctaw is a growing suburban community, with a population of approximately 12,000 as of 2020.
