South Abington Township is a township in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, US. Established in 1871, it was originally part of the larger Abington Township. The township is home to the historic Claverack Christian and Technical School, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Today, South Abington Township is a residential community with a population of approximately 10,000 residents. It offers a variety of recreational activities, including the South Abington Park and Community Center.
