Pittsburg, Texas, US is a city in Camp County, established in the late 1800s. It was initially named "Crossroads" due to its location at the intersection of two major stagecoach routes. The city was later renamed "Pittsburg" in 1855, in honor of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where many of the early settlers had originated. Pittsburg is known for its historic downtown district, which features well-preserved buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The city is also home to the Camp County Courthouse, a notable landmark that was built in 1885 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
