Seguin, Texas, US is the county seat of Guadalupe County, located 38 miles east of San Antonio. It was established in 1838 and named after Juan Nepomuceno Seguín, a Tejano leader in the Texas Revolution. Seguin is the fourth-oldest city in Texas and is known for its historic downtown and the Texas Agricultural Education and Heritage Center, which features a restored 19th-century farmstead and a replica of the first suspension bridge in Texas. The city has a population of approximately 29,000 as of 2020.
