Coker, Alabama is a town in the south-central part of the state, located in rural Tuscaloosa County. It was incorporated in 1913 and has a population of approximately 500 as of the 2020 census. The town is named after James Coker, an early settler and prominent local figure. A notable attraction in Coker is the Coker Farmstead, a well-preserved example of a 19th-century Alabama farm that includes a dogtrot-style house and several outbuildings.
