Jack, Alabama is a town in Clarke County, founded in 1906 and incorporated in 1917. It was named after L.N. Jack, a railroad official. The town was a stop along the Mobile and Ohio Railroad and experienced growth due to the timber industry. The most notable landmark in Jack is the old railroad depot, which was built in 1907 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
