Ladonia, AL, US is a town in Russell County, established in the mid-1800s. It was named after LaDona, a Choctaw Indian chief's daughter. The town was incorporated in 1909 and reached its peak population of around 500 in the mid-20th century. A notable landmark is the Ladonia School, built in 1927, which served as the town's only school until its closure in the late 1990s.
