Lynn, Alabama is a town in Winston County, founded in the mid-1800s. It was originally known as "Blue Mountain" due to its location near the southern end of the Appalachian Mountain range. The town was renamed to "Lynn" in 1883, in honor of a local family. During the Civil War, Lynn was an important site for iron production, contributing to the Confederate war effort. A notable attraction in Lynn is the Old Lynn Cemetery, where many early settlers and notable figures from the town's history are buried.
