Weaver, Alabama, located in Calhoun County, was established in the late 1800s as a railway town. It was named after the Weaver family, who were early settlers in the area. A notable landmark is the Weaver Bowstring Bridge, built in 1889, which is one of the few remaining bowstring truss bridges in the state.
