Yellville, Arkansas, US is the county seat of Marion County. It was established in 1840 and incorporated in 1878. The town was named after the Yell family, who were early settlers in the area. Yellville is home to the annual Turkey Trot festival, which includes a controversial turkey drop from a low-flying airplane. The event attracts both supporters and protesters each year.
