Show Low, Arizona, US is the county seat of Navajo County, covering a total area of 40.3 square miles. It was incorporated in 1953 and has a population of approximately 11,000. The town's name originates from a 1876 poker game between two pioneer farmers, C.E. Cooley and Marion Clark, over ownership of the 100,000-acre ranch. The game's winner, Cooley, declared "Show low, and I win the ranch" when his hand of a two of clubs and a jack of diamonds, known as a "show low," was dealt. A notable attraction is the Show Low Museum, which features exhibits on local history, Native American artifacts, and ranching.
