Capistrano Beach is a coastal community in Orange County, California, US. It is located in the southern part of Dana Point, and was originally part of the Rancho Boca de la Playa land grant. The area was developed in the early 20th century, with the Capistrano Beach Company creating the first subdivision in 1925. The community is named after the nearby Mission San Juan Capistrano, a notable landmark and popular tourist attraction, known for the annual migration of cliff swallows. Today, Capistrano Beach is a residential area with a population of around 3,500, and is known for its beautiful beaches and surfing spots.
