Helendale, California, US is a census-designated place in the Victor Valley of San Bernardino County. Originally a railroad depot for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, it was named Daggett after company director Andrew Daggett. In 1924, the name was changed to Helendale in honor of Helen Plummer, the daughter of a local rancher. The community is known for the Helendale Speedway, a 1/5th mile oval dirt track that hosts stock car and motorcycle races.
