Keyes, CA, US is a small town in Stanislaus County, founded in the early 20th century. It was incorporated in 1908 and named after local farmer and businessman, Aaron P. Keyes. The town's economy was initially based on agriculture, particularly dry farming. Today, Keyes is a residential community with a population of around 5,000. The town is home to the Keyes Historic Schoolhouse, a well-preserved one-room schoolhouse that was built in 1891 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
