Magalia, California, US is a census-designated place in Butte County. It was originally known as Butte Mills and was later renamed after John J. Magalia, a sawmill owner. The town was largely destroyed by the Camp Fire in 2018, but has since begun to rebuild. A notable attraction in Magalia is the Magalia Depot, a historic train station that was originally built in the late 1800s.
