Julesburg, Colorado, located in Sedgwick County, was established in 1859 as a stage station along the Overland Trail. It was named after Jules Beni, a French-born trader who was later killed in a dispute over stolen goods. The town was rebuilt several times due to conflicts with Native Americans and a series of floods. In 1867, it became a division point for the Union Pacific Railroad. The Santa Fe Trail, another significant historical route, also runs through Julesburg. The town's historic museum, the Overland Trail Museum, showcases the area's rich history with exhibits on the Native American tribes, pioneer life, and the railroad.
