North Stonington, Connecticut, established in 1724, is one of the oldest towns in the state. It was originally part of the town of Stonington, but was incorporated as a separate town due to its remote, northern location. The town has a rich agricultural history and is home to the historic Amos Palmer House, a well-preserved example of a 19th-century farmhouse. North Stonington is also known for its rural character and scenic countryside, which includes the Pachaug State Forest, Connecticut's largest state forest.
