Altha is a town in Calhoun County, Florida, US, founded in the late 19th century. It was named after the daughter of a local postmaster. The town's economy was historically based on timber, turpentine, and cotton production. Today, Altha is primarily a residential community with a population of around 500. The town is home to the historic Altha School, which was built in 1927 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
