Cornelia, Georgia, US, incorporated in 1901, is the county seat of Habersham County. It was named after Cornelia Fauntleroy, the daughter of a local judge. The city is known for its Big Red Apple, a 15-foot (4.6 meters) tall apple structure, which pays tribute to the area's apple farming heritage. The apple has been a city landmark since 1925 and was last restored in 2005.
