Lake Park is a city in Lowndes County, Georgia, US, established in 1890. Originally a vacation destination for nearby valley residents, the city was named for its primary feature, a man-made lake. The lake, now drained, was the site of the first hydroelectric power plant in the state. Today, Lake Park is known for its historic downtown district, which includes the Lake Park Academy Street School, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
