Rutledge, Georgia, US is a town in Morgan County founded in 1825. It was named after Governor John Rutledge of South Carolina. The town was incorporated in 1854 and served as a strategic location during the Civil War. The most notable landmark in Rutledge is the Old Morgan County Jail, built in 1907, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
