Tunnel Hill, Georgia, US is a town in Whitfield County, established in the 1840s. It was a significant site during the Civil War, with the Western and Atlantic Railroad running through it. The town is named after the Big Tunnel, a 1,477-foot railroad tunnel, which is the oldest tunnel in the southeastern US and a notable attraction. Tunnel Hill also holds the historic Chetoogeta Station, a stop on the trail of the Total Eclipse Across America in 2017.
