Arcola, Illinois, US is a small town located in Douglas County. It was founded in 1855 and named after Arcola, Italy. The town is known for its Amish community and the annual Illinois Railroad Museum's "Heart of Illinois" railroad fair. Arcola is also home to the Raggedy Ann Statue, dedicated to Johnny Gruelle, the creator of the Raggedy Ann doll.
