Central City, Illinois, US is a village in Marion County. It was established in 1854 and incorporated in 1859. The village was named after the central location of the town in the county. Central City is home to the historic Central City Brick Kiln, a well-preserved example of a 19th-century brick-making facility. The village has a population of approximately 1,300 residents.
