Jonesboro is a village in Union County, Illinois, United States. It was established in 1853 and is known as the county seat. The village was named after Jonesboro, Tennessee, the former home of one of its founders. The town is best known for its historic district, which includes the Old Court House, a notable landmark that was the site of the Supreme Court of the Confederate States of America's first meeting in 1861.
