Kankakee is a city in Kankakee County, Illinois, US, located approximately 60 miles south of Chicago. It was incorporated in 1855, growing rapidly due to the arrival of the railroad. The city is named after the Kankakee River, which flows through the area. A notable attraction in Kankakee is the B. Harley Bradley House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1900, which is considered one of the first Prairie School houses.
