Medora, Illinois, US is a village in Shelby County with a population of approximately 400 as of 2019. It was established in 1855 and named after the daughter of the town's surveyor. Medora is home to the Medora Community Baptist Church, which was built in 1892 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The town's notable landmark is the Medora Covered Bridge, a wooden bridge built in 1883, which is the only remaining covered bridge in Shelby County.
