Albany is a town in Indiana County, Indiana, US. It was platted in 1853 and incorporated in 1870. The town was named after Albany, New York, the home of one of its founders. The town's growth was fueled by the construction of the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railroad. The St. John's Episcopal Church, built in 1855, is a notable landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
