Avon, Indiana, US is a town in Hendricks County, established in 1830. It was originally named "Smith's Station" after settler John Smith. The town was renamed to Avon in 1870, after the Avon River in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Avon is known for the annual Ouibache Music Festival, held at the town's Washington Township Park. The festival features various music genres and attracts musicians and visitors from around the region.
