Freetown, IN, US is a town in Jackson Township, Sullivan County. It was platted in 1854 and named after the fact that it was a "free town" from debt. The town was incorporated in 1872. Freetown is home to the Merom Conference Center, a Christian camp and conference center that has been in operation since 1898 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
