Medora, IN, US is a small town in Jackson County, established in 1826. It was named after Medora Gage, the daughter of a local landowner. The town is best known as the site of the Medora Covered Bridge, built in 1875, which is the longest historic covered bridge in Indiana, spanning 430 feet. Medora was once a thriving industrial center but is now a peaceful rural community, home to around 500 residents.
