Swayzee is a town in Grant County, Indiana, US, with a population of approximately 1,000 residents. It was platted in 1872 and incorporated in 1899, named after an official of the Indianapolis, Decatur and Springfield Railroad. The town's growth was fueled by the discovery of natural gas in the area in the late 19th century. A notable attraction is the Swayzee Public Library, which was established in 1917 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
