Upland, Indiana is a town in Grant County, established in 1853 and incorporated in 1874. It was named after the upland terrain of the area. The town is home to the Taylor University, a private Christian liberal arts college. Upland's historic downtown district, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, features well-preserved 19th-century architecture.
