Cherryvale is a city in Montgomery County, Kansas, US, with a population of approximately 2,200 as of 2020. Established in 1871, it was named after a cherry orchard near the original town site. Cherryvale is known for its historic architecture, including the Cherryvale Opera House, built in 1895, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The city was also the birthplace of famous outlaw Belle Starr in 1848.
