Kingman, Kansas, US is a city in and the county seat of Kingman County. Established in 1884, it was named after Samuel Kingman, a chief justice of the Kansas Supreme Court. The city is known for its historic downtown district, which includes the historic Elk Theatre, built in 1904. The city is located along the historic Chisholm Trail, a major route used by cattle drives in the 19th century.
